According to reports, Steve Carell and his character Michael are leaving the hit show The Office. Steve Carell confirmed the reports during the Red Carpet premiere of his newest movie, Despicable Me. Steve said “I just think it’s time,” when referring to the seventh season contract he signed years ago. 

Apparently, Steve Carell will be leaving The Office after the 2010-2011 season which ends in May 2011. Although Steve Carell is leaving The Office, Steve insists that the show will go on without him saying, “It doesn’t mean the end of the show.”

I think it’s just a dynamic change to the show, which could be a good thing, actually. Add some new life and some new energy…I see it as a positive in general for the show.” Still many fans insist that the show won’t be the same without Steve Carell and Michael Scott.
